Heft Inn: A Michelin-starred gem in the Lake District:
The Heft Inn is a 17th-century former coaching inn located in the village of High Newton, near Grange-over-Sands, LA11 6JH in the Lake District.
It has been sympathetically restored by Cumbrian born-and-bred couple Kevin and Nicola Tickle, who opened the restaurant in July 2021.
The restaurant has quickly gained a reputation for its excellent food, using locally sourced ingredients to create modern British dishes with a twist. In 2023, Heft was awarded its first Michelin star, making it one of only a handful of Michelin-starred restaurants in the Lake District.
The Heft is an experience that embodies the essence of comfort, tradition, and gastronomic delight
The restaurant takes full advantage of the Cumbrian region’s rich agricultural bounty, incorporating fresh produce, dairy, and meats sourced from nearby farms. This not only ensures the highest quality of ingredients but also supports local communities and reduces the carbon footprint.
The wine list is carefully curated to complement the food, and there is a range of cocktails and beers available too.
