David & Pam

David and Pam are your hosts here at Kents Bank Holiday in Grange-over-Sands. We have been running Lothlorien (the name of the property) as a holiday cottage since 2011. We love helping our guests get the best experience possible from their stay here.

We have 2 lovely children, 1 crazy spaniel called ‘Buddy’ or ’Le Bud’ to our French chums. We also help look after our daughter’s cob called Archie who is known to be a little bit stubborn!

Pam was born in Grange and has lived here all her life. She has grown up with animals from being a baby having been brought up in a farming family. Her loyalty has no limits having worked for the NHS since she was a teenager.

David originally came from Lancashire and, for the first 20 years of his working life, was employed in engineering and, for the last 18 years, in a completely different world working for a legal firm in Ulverston. He has enjoyed every second of his time here in this beautiful part of the country.

We live less than 5 minutes from the property giving us the chance to welcome our guests personally ensuring they are settled in before leaving them to enjoy their stay.

Our main focus is to provide the best experience possible for our guests during their stay here.

Dog Friendly

Here at Kents Bank Holiday we adore dogs and welcome your four-legged friend to stay. For most pet lovers your dog is part of your family, so pack your doggy rucksack and bring them along too.

We have a large secure garden and lots of doggy things to do and sniff in the area.

We accept one well-behaved dog for which we make a small additional charge of £5 per night.

Lothlorien is a two-bedroom bungalow situated in the pretty village of Kents Bank on the outskirts of Grange-over-Sands. The property boasts bay views and is ideally suited for holidaymakers visiting the beautiful Edwardian town of Grange-over-Sands and the Lake District.

Lothlorien is a perfect place to stay in Grange-over-Sands especially for anyone interested in Cross Bay Walks, Cartmel Races, Cumbria Steam Gathering, Cartmel Show and North West Parachute Centre at Skydive North West in Flookburgh.

For ramblers and fell walkers, this property is an ideal self-catering, walker-friendly holiday home, with Coniston Old Man, High Street and the Langdale Pikes being less than an hour away by car. For anyone not wanting to use their car, regular bus and train services are available from Kents Bank station.

If cycling is your preferred mode of transport, Lothlorien is situated on the eighty-one mile Bay Cycle Way running from Walney Island to Glasson Dock.

The area is blessed with quality restaurants, pubs and cafes in nearby Grange, Allithwaite and Cartmel catering for all tastes. For anyone interested in fine dining, the award-winning L’Enclume restaurant is nearby in Cartmel.
