View Over Morecambe Bay:
Morecambe Bay is the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in the UK. It stretches from Walney Island and takes in the coastal towns of Grange-over-Sands (including Kents Bank), Arnside and Silverdale, and all the way around to Fleetwood.
The bay is 120 sq miles (310 sq km) of intertidal sands, which never stay the same from one tide to the next.
The bay is ever changing and this is the view over Morecambe Bay taken by our guests – David & Wendy Booth from Leeds from the lounge window of Lothlorien.
For those who have never been to the bay area, Morecambe Bay is a particularly fine sight at lowering tide when still, long strands of water glisten between fingers of sand.
It is one of the most important migratory stop-over points in the UK.
The bay is then a mirror to the sky with the changing light.
