The Predator Experience
The Predator Experience is the only place in the country where visitors have the chance to walk with wolves.
This is your chance to walk with wolves in the Lake District.
Furthermore, in addition to learning about them, you can see and experience them in their natural environment.
Coupled with walking with the animals, visitors can take part in other interactive experiences.
Such things as flying golden eagles from the top of the Lake District fells, countryside hawk walks, fox encounters and, even learn how to howl.
Visitors who want to walk with the wolves talk through the greeting process with Maska and Kajika (who are brothers).
Following the introduction and before taking the lead, visitors learn about wolf conservation, their environment, how they communicate – including howling – and their role in bio-diversity.
The business was launched in 2009 and there are now plans to expand further.
A £1.4 million development plan has recently been approved after appeal.
The plans include adding new animal housing with viewing rooms, an indoor flying room for wet weather – birds of prey experiences, a reception area, parking, toilets with disabled access.
New education and training facilities, an animal viewing room and an animal hospital are all part of the new development.
A Walking with Wolves experience lasts for approximately one hour.
In August 2022, it was announced that three young wolf cubs have joined The Predator Experience which is situated at Ayside, close to Newby Bridge.
The 15- week old trio, named Cheveyo, Chalok and Chitali, have arrived following a long journey from Italy. All three are settling well into to their new home Lake District home.
From September through to December, there will be puppy socialisation days where visitors can get up close and personal with the cubs.
