Arnside Tower is a ruined 15th-century pele tower on the southern slopes of Arnside Knott, built around 1375 to defend the Morecambe Bay coast from Scottish border raids.
Today its weathered walls still rise above the fields of Far Arnside, giving visitors a striking glimpse of medieval life just a short walk from the village.
It was originally referred to as Heathwaite and was owned by the Harrington family.
The Tower is believed to date back to 1375 and was built to offer protection against Scottish raids (maybe pirates as well).

In 1884, a hurricane blew down the southwest wall.
