Ruskin’s viewpoint is accessible down a pretty alley beside the Sun Inn and through the graveyard of the Norman Church of St Mary the Virgin.

Furthermore, this view has been immortalised in a painting by JMW Turner, painted in 1822.  John Ruskin described the view as “the loveliest in England”.
