River Kent Kayaking:
There were several brave souls out kayaking on the River Kent yesterday afternoon. Some people don’t seem to feel the cold!
The source of the River Kent is high up in the hills above the remote valley of Kentmere.
During the 19th-century, the river powered the waterwheels for as many as 15 mills dotted along the isolated valley.
From Kentmere, the river runs in a southerly direction through Staveley, Kendal and our into Morecambe Bay near Arnside.
