Ornate Cast Iron Shop Front in Dalton-in-Furness:
Hartley’s Restaurant at 51, Market Street in Dalton-in-Furness has its own individual identity from other shops in the town.
Its shop front is ornate and made of cast iron which is unusual.
The shop front will have been installed in the latter half of the nineteenth century.
Moreover, being made of cast iron it allowed shopfronts to be tall and elegant for the first time.
