New Cycle Track near Lothlorien

New Cycle Track near Lothlorien:

Allithwaite is a village two miles north-west of Grange-over-Sands.

A new cycling facility has recently opened and is less than a mile away from Lothlorien Holiday Cottage in Kents Bank.

The Pump Track at Allithwaite near Grange-over-Sands is a great place to have fun and get exercise, no matter your age or skill level.

It’s a closed-loop track with rollers and bumps, designed to be ridden without pedaling. You use your body weight and momentum to pump your bike around the track.

The track is suitable for all types of bikes, including BMX, mountain bikes, and even scooters. It’s a great place to learn new skills and improve your riding technique. It’s also a lot of fun!

Pumptracks are man-made closed circuits with “roller” bumps in between and banked corners at each end.

As a full-body workout, riders use their body to “pump” – or push down into the dip after an elevation and pull up before the crest of a mound – throughout the continuous loop.

Furthermore, by absorbing and compressing the bike over the rollers, the rider converts gravitational force and downward thrust into speed.

In this case, a £3,000 donation towards the cost has been made by the annual Fred Whitton Challenge Cycle Sportive.

We invite you to stay at Lothlorien
