Great North Swim Windermere
Windermere has long been associated with open-water swimming and first hosted the Great North Swim in 2008.
Its original base was at Low Wood Bay with 2200 people swimming in the mile-long course.

As many as 10,000 swimmers are expected to take part in the Great North Swim in Windermere.
Each year, the event takes place on the UK’s largest freshwater lake, Windermere.
