Out of Season Break?

Grange-over-Sands: Out of Season Break?

Grange-over-Sands: Out of Season Break?

Whatever the weather in Grange-over-Sands there is always something to do.

Out-of-season is no different.

Autumn is a season of change. As the shorter days and tumbling golden leaves mark the end of summer, the Lake District begins to quieten down, leaving you free to roam and explore this beautiful place without the hustle and bustle of the many summer visitors.

In fact, at quieter times of the year, one thing the Lake District can offer is seclusion.

You can still have a fantastic holiday here in the Lakes even though the days are getting shorter and the nights growing longer.
Here are some ideas to make the most of your stay:

1. Take time to enjoy many of the National Trust and English Heritage gems
2. Enjoy walks on quieter paths and bridleways

3. Relax over long lazy lunches at some of the excellent restaurants in the area.

4. If you are a keen hiker, the Kendal Mountain Festival is a must-visit. There is a comprehensive programme of guided hikes, organised trail runs, yoga, and talks on the great outdoors.

5. Go to see Holker Hall and Gardens: This historic country house is set in 25 acres of beautiful gardens, and it’s one of the most popular attractions in the Lake District. You can explore the house, wander through the gardens, and enjoy a leisurely lunch or afternoon tea.

6. Take a trip on Windermere Lake Cruises’ using a Walker’s ticket. The ticket combines two boat cruises and a beautiful four-mile walk.

7. Take a two-hour circular trek around Rydal Water. Park at White Moss and you will be treated to an easy low level walk with romantic views of Loughrigg Fell and Nab Scar.

8. Visit Cartmel Priory: This medieval priory is one of the most important historical sites in the Lake District. You can explore the ruins, learn about the history of the priory, and enjoy a peaceful walk through the grounds.

Conclusion:

There are so many things to see and do in the Lake District out of season. Winter sees fewer visitors, but the attraction remains the same. You can still get out walking on frosty mornings in the clear Lakeland air.
