Visit Manjushri KMC at Conishead Priory:

Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre (KMC) is situated close to the market town of Ulverston, Cumbria.

The KMC is a haven of peace and tranquillity.

Founded in 1998 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, a world-renowned meditation master, the centre offers a variety of courses and retreats to help people of all levels of experience learn and practice meditation.

Conishead Priory:

The original Conishead Priory on this site was founded as a hospital by William De Taillebols, Baron of Kendal. Eventually, it was raised to the status of Priory and dedicated to the Virgin Mary.

It was dismantled soon after the “Dissolution of Monasteries” in 1536. A house was built on the ruins first by Lord Monteagle and later in the 17th century by the Braddyll family.
