All You Need To Know About Grange

All You Need To Know About Grange:

For anyone who hasn’t been before, the seaside town Grange-over-Sands is a perfect base to explore the fells of South Lakeland and the Furness Coastline.

This charming Edwardian resort has a sunny, south-facing position on the edge of Morecambe Bay.

Further, it  has some of the finest parks and gardens on the Cumbrian coast, including the beautiful ornamental gardens.

Perhaps the most striking feature, without doubt, is the view of the bay from the Morecambe bay sands.

From the promenade, you can sit and watch the water as it ebbs and flows with the coming and going of the tides.

The bay estuary and the countryside around Grange are fascinating places for bird enthusiasts.

Birds flock to the estuary, where you can observe all kinds of waders, ducks, geese and waterbirds generally.

Hampsfell Hospice is situated on the fell above Grange and has provided shelter for travellers ever since.

Just a half hour’s walk from Grange, the Hospice boasts an outstanding view that takes in the Old Man of Coniston, Helvellyn, the Langdales and Morecambe Bay.
